The art of Fresco, which has decorated palaces and villas for centuries, has been revived, faithfully using the same time honored traditions that have been handed down from generation to generation. Each fresco is an individual reproduction of an original fresco in Italy. They are created by artists using traditional techniques perfected by Giotto and Massaccio in the Early Renaissance. The frescos are painted on a wall of wet plaster made of slaked lime, washed sand and marble dust. The fresco painter must have a practiced eye and sure brush stroke to foresee the tonality changes as the wet plaster absorbs the color and dries. When complete, the fresco is transferred from the wall with the Calicot method commonly used in restorations of fine art. Faithfulness to traditional methods ensures a beautiful fresco with the look and feel of an ancient fresco. Click on any of the pictures below for a detailed view.
